SMP For Male Pattern Baldness
SMP hair male pattern baldness
Pattern baldness is very common in both men and women.
This type of hair loss can take many forms, affecting either the hairline or the crown area, or both.
We usually recommend that clients shave their hair down to achieve the buzz look so that scalp micropigmentation treatments can be perfectly matched and blended through to their existing hair.
Up to 95% of male baldness is caused by male pattern baldness. It is a natural phenomenon that affects the vast majority of men. By the age of 50, there is an 85% chance that your hair will be noticeably thinner. Many men are bothered by natural hair loss for cosmetic reasons. Though you are not alone, you may prefer the look of fuller, thicker hair.
SMP techniques can create the illusion of density by layering treatments and shades of micro-dots around and in-between existing hair if your hair is thinning and you want to keep the length longer without having to wear the shaved buzz look. For older clients with grey/white hair, it is best to keep the colour a darker shade for the best results.
How Scalp Micro Pigmentation helps male pattern baldness
Scalp micropigmentation may be the solution for you if you prefer the youthful appearance of a full, thick, and strong head of hair. Using tiny scalp tattoos, this procedure produces a natural and convincing result. Small tattoos can be used in areas where there has been significant hair loss or where the hair has thinned to the point where the scalp can be seen through the strands. Scalp tattoos will blend in with your hair, making it appear fuller and thicker.
Other Scalp Micropigmentation Treatments Include
Scalp Micropigmentation is used to treat male pattern baldness quickly and effectively, giving you the appearance of a full head of hair that has been closely shaved. We can give you results that mimic your old hair follicles, giving you that buzz cut look and making you look 10 years younger, whether your hair is slightly receding or has gone completely.
Over the years, we have helped hundreds of men regain their confidence and self-esteem, returning what they felt was taken too soon.
What Is Scalp Micropigmentation For Male Pattern Baldness?
If you are a man experiencing hair loss, our head practitioner Craig Molyneux is the person to see. Male hair tattoos are an excellent long-term, hassle-free solution for giving you the appearance of a full head of hair, adding thickness and texture to thinning areas of your hair, providing you with a defined hairline, or covering scarring and the effects of alopecia. Craig Molyneux has worked at some of Liverpool’s top barbers for over a decade, so he understands what men want in a hairline and how different faces suit different hairlines and looks. This is significant because SMP can look wrong and unsuitable with the wrong hairline.
Does SMP for Pattern Baldness Hurt?
Scalp Micropigmentation for men is a non-invasive, life-changing procedure. There is a chance that you will experience some discomfort during the procedure, but just as different people have different experiences when getting a tattoo, your level of pain tolerance will play a role. We have not had any clients who were in pain and wanted to stop or pause the session in our experience. Each treatment takes between four and five hours on average.
People who have scalp acne or other sensitive skin conditions, such as psoriasis, should avoid SMP treatment while they are experiencing a breakout or flare-up. It is difficult to apply the pigment to the area in these conditions. Those who are prone to keloids, which are common in darker skin tones, should consider alternatives to SMP.
There is no better way to regain confidence and restore the desired look and feel of your hair. Craig has barber experience, so he knows how your hairline should look. You’ll feel fantastic after the four recommended sessions. We use the highest quality pigment and offer an unrivalled aftercare service to ensure that you have the hair you want and deserve.

The SMP Process
You will come in, and we will discuss your expectations. Our team will then map out a new hairline, using industry leading techniques to match your face shape. .
We have a mixture of hairline techniques, and this will be decided on your personal requirements. Our ink is then perfectly matched to your skin tone.
This is one week after the 1st session. On the 2nd session, we will go up a shade with the colour and really look to add alot of density using a blanket layer to completely cover the area we are working.
This gives a really nice look of natural density.
After a 2 week gap after the 2nd session. We will go up another shade but this time slightly less density than previous session using a inlay technique to work between the impression created in session 1 & 2 this gives a nice definition to the SMP treatment bringing it all together to give a fantastic new look.
We provide a full after care program, and support throughout. We provide a fully detailied and thorough after care program tailored for each client.
